GEDSI is a crucial component in achieving the objectives of RT4D by:
- Fostering inclusive trade and sustainable development
- Raising awareness and enhances understanding of the varying impact of trade on men, women, and marginalised groups, and
- Equipping trade officials and stakeholders with skills to integrate GEDSI perspectives.
Through focused interventions, and in collaboration with partners and stakeholders including the ASEAN Secretariat, RT4D strives to ensure AANZFTA and RCEP are implemented inclusively, broadening access to trade benefits for women, people with disabilities and marginalised communities.
